Friday Favorites

March 23, 2018

We made it to Friday! Yay!!

I have seen other bloggers do a favorite things type post and I love the idea. I decided I am going to do my own version of this and very excited about this! I am going to share my favorite of the week in the following categories: Company, Place, Recipe, Baby Item, Clothing/Makeup, and Coffee Shop/Brewery.

Company: The Netmen Corp

Thanks to this company I officially have a logo for my blog! I worked with Vanesa and she made the whole process super easy! When you first signup, they send you a questionnaire to fill out to determine what style you like and try to get a feel of you. In the beginning, I had no idea what I wanted, from her first email of ideas it got the ball rolling and my mind wondering. Of course, after her first email, I found something else I liked. She was very accommodating and worked back and forth with me as long as it took!

Place: Rhinegeist Brewery

Rhinegeist is located in downtown Cincinnati off Elm Street. The brewery is located in ‘the skeleton of the old Moerlein bottling plant (1895)’. One of the great things about this place is that it’s very kid-friendly; which is super important to us. We went last Saturday for St. Patrick’s Day and it was hopping! There were so many people ranging from all ages, which made us feel right at home, and we weren’t judged for bringing a baby. I can’t wait to go back in the summer for warm weather and their rooftop bar! Find Parker’s onesie here.

Recipe: Chicken Street Tacos from The Skinnyish Dish

I am currently doing Weight Watchers (more on them latter) and this is a perfect recipe. Only 5 smart points for 3 tacos and they are super filling. Also, this is super easy to make! I am not the best cook, but I am trying. I made this with ease! The recipe makes 21 tacos which is AMAZING, especially with a young baby, I don’t get much time to make a big lunch throughout the day. My husband doesn’t like refried beans or Greek yogurt, so that meant all the tacos were for me. Star, of Daily Dose of Pepper, suggested to wrap them in groups of 3. I put half in the freezer and half in the fridge. When warming them up, I put them into an air fryer which makes them crispy as when they first came out of the oven.

Baby Item: Infantino Flip 4-in-1 Convertible Carrier

Babywearing has been becoming more and more important as Parker gets older. We have been using it a ton this month: airport, baby tours at the Art Museum, around the house, cooking dinner, Rhinegeist (mentioned above), and more. I absolutely LOVE this carrier, it changes as he does. As a baby, he would face in (which we still do for naps), and now that he is bigger and more active he can face out and see the world around him! This has worked out really well for us so I would recommend this brand, it’s worth every penny!

Clothing: Pink and Grey Striped Shirt

This is one of my go-to shirts. It is so comfy and perfect with leggings when you want to be cozy but still put together. It was an impulse Target buy the night before Parker’s newborn pictures. I was in rough shape after delivery and I needed something flowy, soft, and that would go with leggings. This fits every category so I bought it in two different colors. Anyone else does this when they find something they love?? I still wear this shirt all the time (currently wearing it as a type of this post, haha!)

Coffee Shop: Hyde Perk Coffee Shop

My parents graciously watch Parker one afternoon a week, mostly so I can get things done. I am very appreciative of this as a Stay at Home Mama this is HUGE! Today I decided to get my nails done, check out a new coffee shop, and write some posts! I went to a nail place called  Escape Nails and as I pulled in I saw “Hyde Perk.” I had heard about this place before, but never knew where it was. When I walked in there weren’t a ton of people there yet, and it was ideal! I ordered my usual coffee ‘caramel latte’ and a Peanut Butter Banana Granola Bar, and found a table! My experience was very enjoyable and I will definitely make a return visit. There are other great perks (haha) of this place such as drive-thru (with a baby this is a MUST) and wine bar (great place to meet with friends for a glass by the fire in comfy chairs.)

Hope you enjoyed some of my favorites!!

xoxo,

Katie
