It is officially the Summer of 2023! I feel like this year is going so fast. The kids are 5 and 4 years old which I cannot believe. People say you only get 18 summers with your children so you’ve got to make them count. To me, that is a lot of pressure! Summer should be slow, about making memories, and letting kids be kids. We were on a trip this past weekend and stayed in a cabin. The kids just ran back and forth between each cabin and entertained themselves. They learned how to catch fireflies! That to me is the definition of summer!

At the beginning of the kids summer break, I wrote down an anthem and wanted to share it.
-Say ‘No’ less and ‘Yes’ more
-Slow Days
-More Adventures
-Less screens for us all
-More outside than inside
-New places
-New rules
-More us time
-Learning something new each day
-Less pressure
-Walk, jump, jog, hop, slither, gallop
I want to cherish the time when they are these ages. They have become more independent and need us less. One day they might not need me at all, which is good! I have to remind myself that multiple times a day.
