A November of Gratitude

December 2, 2019

Welcome to my Blogmas! I wanted to start this month by looking back on the month of November. I challenged myself to find at least one thing each day to be grateful for. Some days were easy to find gratitude, while others were a little more difficult. The month of November wasn’t the easiest one due to sickness. Finding a little good in each day was very helpful.

Day 1- I couldn’t imagine doing life without him by my side! This life we have created is amazing. It’s not always rainbows and butterflies. We fight, disagree, and bicker, but that’s okay. At the end of the day, we talk things out and move on. ♥️

Day 2For slow Sundays with my crew. Between time change, coughing, and an almost 6-month-old we were up a lot last night. We had no plans till 5:30 today and it was just what we needed! Lots of couch snuggles, semi-decent naps, and in our pajamas till dinner! ♥️

Day 3- I love getting a new book! There is something about learning new things and holding the actual book in my hand. It takes me several months to get through a single book, but I still buy them! I can’t wait to dive into “The Joy of Missing Out: Live More by Doing Less” by @tonya.i.dalton ♥️ The past year I have loved reading personal development/self-help books! I have been learning that it’s so important to focus on ourselves even though it is hard to do. We need to make sure we are okay before we can be the best mom/wife/daughter/girlfriend/friend.

Day 4- Little Miss Hadley took a 3-hour nap! 🙌🏻 Probably due to her not feeling the best and her PT appointment but this mama will take it! Since she took a great nap, both kids got some one-on-one mama time today! In this season that doesn’t happen very often. I will soak it in when I can! 😍😘

Day 5For things that make my life easier, especially on busy days. Wednesdays in our house mean mom’s group and swim lessons for both kids. I was in the search for a meal option which is fast before naps and which Parker could eat after swim lesson. Read all about my mom hack with Freeli Foods here.

Day 6- That we live by one of the best zoos, @cincinnatizoo. We have been members since Parker was just a couple of months old! 🐆🐘🐒🦒I highly recommend going when it’s a little colder outside, the animals were all so active. It was so much fun. The tiger was our favorite, right at the glass pacing back and forth. He even thought we were giving him Hadley as a snack 🤣😂

Day 7- Little Miss Hadley has officially been on the Earth for half a year! This means we have successfully survived 6 months as a family of 4! 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 She is rolling all over the place, trying to grab everything in sight, and big brother just wants to eat all the donuts! See what she has been up to this past month ♥️

Day 8 CJ and I were able to sneak out for a couple of hours for a date night. These nights are now filled with an activity instead of things we can do at home like seeing a movie. Tonight we went to the Brick Bar popup and participated in a ‘build your best Christmas design’ Lego competition. We totally won which meant we got two drink tickets! ♥️

Day 9- Today was one of those Sundays that was spent relaxing, being productive, having some me time and a girl’s day. I got to meet up with my mom, grandma, some of my aunt’s, and my cousin Erica to get our nails done! This time was special because I got to be surrounded by some of my favorite ladies! Quality family time is so important ♥️

Day 10- 6-month appointment for this girl and our first meal in the InstantPot!

Day 11- A snowy day in Cincinnati! I declared it a pajama day and spent it finding out all the things to do inside instead of watching TV. We played with the dotters, colored bears, play dough, trains, and stamps. Also, miss Hadley was super cuddly and took a nap with mama!

Day 12- Started with us finally making it to @crdseastside mom’s group. I am very grateful for the women I have met and the friendships I have created! Being a stay at home mom can be super lonely so creating community is very important ♥️♥️

Day 13- I woke up, fed Hadley, read my devotion, did my @thestarttodaybrand, and got a workout in all before CJ started work! It set my day off on the right foot and I am grateful for that. It was much needed to pour into myself first before being focusing the rest of the day on the kids.

Day 14- Today I am grateful for doing something that made me anxious. I took both kids to the mall by myself! I debated this since yesterday if I should do it. I was so nervous and lots of anxiety was going on in my head. We took up a lot of room in the double stroller, both nursing rooms were full so I had to find a spot elsewhere, Hadley spit up all over the floor right after this picture was taken, and I probably looked like a hot mess mom the whole time.

Day 15- Saturday night fun with this little guy. Checked out our local Walmart to pick up my favorite LINDOR truffles by @lindt_usa! We picked up the Milk Chocolate, White Chocolate, Assorted, and White Chocolate Peppermint holiday bags. Then popped over to Jungle Jims, where this kid likes to organize my cart in a line. Ha.

Day 16- A Sunday Funday spent with my little crew! We checked out the @cincymuseum Christmas train display and it didn’t disappoint. Our train-loving boy had so much fun! I highly recommend it’s something we try and do every year!
Also, it is so hard to get a picture of 4 people. Little Miss just loves her brother so much, but he wants nothing to do with her 😂🤣

Day 17- A doctor’s appointment for both kids, meant a slow and easy day with them was in order.

Day 18- Hadley has been going to PT since she was 3 months old. She has been making great strides, and has almost graduated! We go back in a month to double-check the progress and then won’t have to go back until she walks!! Way to go girlfriend!!

Day 19- Mama got the stomach bug. We watch Disney +, both kids took good naps, and cuddled! Also, super glad CJ works from home and was able to help this mama out.

Day 20- We got evaluated for speech therapy at Children’s Hospital for Parker. He was accepted and we can’t wait to start therapy!!

Day 21- This day was one thing after another and all I wanted to do was cry! We got out of the house, had dinner at Chipotle and then game night with the hubby!

Day 22- Family Target trip where mama got Starbucks and Little Miss took a nap. Then on the way home, Parker couldn’t hang, we even tried to keep him awake with a fry. Clearly that didn’t work, don’t worry he was fine!

Day 23- This past week was HARD! Both kids weren’t feeling 100% and then at times, I wasn’t feeling well. This meant a lot of time at home and not doing our normal routine. It just seemed last week was stacked against me. All I wanted was to crawl in a hole to cry and wallow. Don’t get me wrong I totally did. I let myself get so wrapped up in the negative I didn’t see the good.
I decided today it had to stop. I got up, showered, and put on regular clothes (not sweat or workout gear.) I took time for myself, Hadley and I got the car detailed, bought a new Christmas tree! Today I decided to change my mindset and dig myself out of my hole. I even curled my hair and put a little makeup on.

Day 24- Finally after almost 7 months, Little Miss Hadley got her own personalized @potterybarnkids anywhere chair! Her brother might have actually gotten the new chair, and she got his old with a new cover, but don’t tell her that.

Day 25- My husband has a strick after Thanksgiving policy for Christmas. This year Parker went up to the tree box and said, ‘UP.’ Parker isn’t talking all that much, so when he does say something, we do it!

Day 26- The night before Thanksgiving is for Friendsgiving. A night to catch up with friends and relax. This mama snuck out of the house after the kids were in bed!

Day 27- Happy Thanksgiving for our little family to yours! So much to be thankful for this year ♥️🦃A wonderful day spent with both of our families and watching the parade!

Day 28- Black Friday consists of decorating our house. The ornaments will go up another time, trying to have these two get used to the tree first. We also got our family Christmas pictures taken, and can’t wait to see them!

Day 29- We took this train loving boy and his sister who is just happy to be there to @entertrainmentj today! We saw a bunch of trains, met Santa, got lost in the mirror maze, ate a cookie, and made countless memories ♥️ It’s a holiday tradition we started last year and it’s so much fun! If you are in Cincinnati it’s a must holiday stop.

Can’t wait to see where December takes us! Follow along on our 25 days of Blogmas!
