I have been in love with gallery walls for as long as I can remember. When we finally moved into our house I knew the exact wall where I wanted to do one. It took about 4 months to get it hung, but I was so happy!
We had just gotten married earlier that year, so I knew that was going to be my focal point for this gallery wall. This was also the day before we got Winnie, so it was just the two of us! Oh that seems like so long ago! 🙂
As we were getting the nursery ready for Mr. Parker my love of gallery walls spilled over. I find the cutest pictures of animals from TJ Maxx and knew they would be perfect, especially since I found four. The theme of his nursery was arrows, navy blue, white, and mint. I was so excited how this turned out, but I couldn’t have done it without the help of my cousin, Erica.
Please note, there is still no picture in the frame… oh well!
After Parker was born I decided it was finally time to update the gallery wall above our couch. I had seen Lauren Love’s wedding gallery post and knew I needed those picture frames from Ikea. I ordered them not long after and was so exited. I ended up ordering 3 12′ X 16′ and 3 16′ X 20′. I didn’t have a clear idea in my head what I wanted to do yet, but I figured I could work with what I had.
My one piece of advice before you start hanging the gallery is put it all the floor first. That way you can see how it will look and you can still arrange without putting extra holes into the wall. My job was to decide on the floor how I wanted it, take a picture, and then my husband would hang them! Parker and I supervised the whole time, and gave words of encouragement.
Not going to lie, I had him hang these right before we had company over. They sat on the wall empty for a couple weeks. It took me a little while to finally decide the perfect pictures to put in there. Of course these will change over time, but I am pretty pleased with how it turned out.
I ended up using 4 of the frames that I got from Ikea. I had 2 leftover and knew the perfect spot for them. We moved into our house in August of 2015, and I had yet to find something to put over our bed. Since I had the two extra pictures frames I thought I would try it out with another piece of art I had. I was a little worried since we have a King sized bed, so I wanted the pictures to be centered and not look off. I think it turned out pretty well!
Look at that baby model! 🙂
I have some other fun gallery walls that I am planning. Don’t forget to follow along so you won’t miss anything!
